Department of Conservation Launches Audience-Focused Website and Logo

Today we are excited to announce the re-launch of our website, conservation.ca.gov, with a new website built to connect visitors to the wealth of natural resources data and services they use most.

Visitors will get direct access DOC’s most requested resources by audience and an overall improved experience navigating the spectrum of information created and maintained by our scientists and experts.

The new site also introduces our new logo – a unique blend of our divisions’ expertise that symbolizes modernization and emphasizes DOC’s core values of earth science, public safety, and environmental protection.

The website was developed using audience-centric design following research into what users most often interacted with our old website, how visitors looked for information, and our goal of making our services more accessible to the public.

Content throughout the new site has also been overhauled to make it easier to read.

“The new website opens access to our data and programs, improving the visitor experience and delivery of our services,” said Director of Conservation David Bunn. “It also supports our principles of demonstrating accountability to ourselves and the public while supporting enhanced public outreach and engagement.”

Our website will continue to improve as information architecture is enhanced, content is added and user feedback incorporated.
